Résumé / Abstract : The REIS is a publication of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) and is edited on a quarterly basis. Following in the footsteps of the Spanish Institute of Public Opinion, founded in 1963, the CIS has devoted itself to conducting systematic applied social research based on sample studies and now boasts the biggest sociological Data Bank in Spain. The REIS has followed the trail blazed by its most immediate predecessor, the Revista espanola de la opinion publica, of which over 50 editions were published between 1965 and 1977, and is now considered to be the most authoritative and up-to-date journal of the Social Sciences in Spain and indispensable benchmark for professionals in the fields of Sociology and Political Science. The high level of quality that characterises contributions to the journal is guaranteed by an anonymous panel of referees, and advisory board and an editorial board made up of renowned academics in the disciplines of Sociology and Political Science.
