Musique -- Religion -- Moyen-Orient
Résumé / Abstract : The oriental music evolved in three aspects : cultural, mythical and religious. Later on, and with the beginning of christianity and then with islam, music developed and gave rise to two distinct musical forms, the secular and the religious. However, the relation between the music and the sacred in islam and Christianity in Lebanon, witnesses several major upheavals since the emergence of both religions, and since its legal acceptance by man and the religious texts. Accepted at times and rejected at others, both the music and the sacred evolved in time, slowly and differently, within the two religions
