Résumé / Abstract : In "The Algerian literary prose in Arabic language from 1830 to 1930", the author's purpose is to make known a neglected and forgotten literature, witness of the thought and the imagination in an epoch-key of the Algeria's history. A retrospective of the writing, in the end of the ottoman era, shows in the report of the four phases of the prose after 1830 - imitation, stagnation, waking, creation - into their historical context with their periods and the presentation of the political, social and cultural events. The study of the literary kinds, like the biography and the autobiography, the sitting, the epistle and the narrative of the travel, sets off the thought's vitality and the safeguard of the Arabic language and the Islam in the society. The treated themes are still the present topic: the holy war or the exile, the government and the Islam, the fairness, the knowledge and the woman. Besides, an inventory, of the manuscripts and the printed books, which refer to the period, is made to complete the bibliography
