Résumé / Abstract : Résumé : In Latin, there are variations in the nominal flexion, particulary in the so-called "3rd declension" (ciue ̃ciui, parentum ̃parentium, tre ̃tris). Some of them have been grammaticalized (noun / adjective, animate / inanimate, adjective / "absolute" ablative). The others are considered to be used by the speakers at random. We shall try to show that they have a syntactical-semantical ground : they express a focalization and an actualizing / unactualizing look of the state of facts.
