Résumé / Abstract : The existence of the six biggest japanese groupings is one of the factors that maintained coherence within national productive structures during the 70's and the 80's. These six groupings represent a specific and homogeneous category. They are characterised by the "multisectorality" of their structure : they integrate, on the one hand, commercial and financial activities and, on the other hand, a great diversity of manufacturing activities. Structured and coherent unities, these groupings which i call "multisectoral groupings", are able to influence their environement and, therefore, the totallity of productive structures. They maintain particularly close institutional links with the state, thus they are able, among other things, to intervene in defining the parameters of economic policy.
